I saw the following status on I-131
Application Type: I131, APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT
Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On November 21, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
Does it mean that I-131 is approved?

I also think that now at least we should think of making IV a paid site. Doubtful people always used to ask for results. IV has given a big answer to all these people. Why not at least make it paid for posting in the forums/starting a new thread?

I decided to apply I485 as future employment. My attorney charged complete GC fees when I got I140 approval. ....
I-140 and I-485 are always for future employment. Current employment only assures that employer has future permanent employment on your GC approval (employment on H1 is supposed to be temporary). There is nothing to stop you from working anywhere (or not working at all) until you get GC, at which time sponsoring employer is obligated to give you a job (for which he got LC and I-140 approved), and you are obligated to work for him. If AOS is not approved within 180 days, AC21 can be applied leaving no obligation to work for sponsoring employer.
BTW, I-140 is an employer filing. They are expected to pay for it. Since July 07 it is illegal for employers to ask employees to pay immigration related fees (or ask to fill a bond to work for certain period).

Relax... I have seen many people who bought PDs from consultants paying 10k and got GCs too. Don't worry. If you post these kind of threads, it make people waiting for years more frustrating. Be happy for your luck. Go chill. Don't keep saying you are afraid and all.

The FBI name check is a bottleneck agreed. BUTTT It has NOTHING to do with the recent VB fiasco!
Some people were approved by the USCIS even WITHOUT the name checks. This is entirely a US Dept of State vs USCIS mess.

MS+0 is totally fine as long as the requirement is masters. It has least complications. When ppl with no masters apply no probs. When ppl with masters and exp apply, I am sure they will ask for more wage than labour cert. On those grounds u can deny those resumes. Its not worth to change employer just for that reason. There are many other big things that ur employer should back u in. So stay with someone who will back u well with apper work and with whome u have a rappo or will have a rappo.

If your case is genuinely true then you should not have a issue scanning the RFE as is and posting it . You can take out your name and personal info but leave everything else intact if you want to. Also did you contact IV members like Pappu if you really need help. If you indeed got this kind of RFE then you should not hesitate to contact them.

Didn't you know for sure that you were going to stay with employer before asking them to apply GC.
It may be illegal by Law by asking you to give the money back, but where would you put your action of wasting somebody's money?
Not sure the contracting terms between you and your employer, but surely he was not the one forcing you to join the company, its you joined.
If he was ready to help you to get GC, ready to invest atleast 9K on the process, why would you think his money is there just for you to play.
Of course, you have valid points by law, you may escape from the latch now, but make sure this is not an repeating event.

And who knows I may have to agree to this policy in future if I decide to redo my GC application :)

As per the law, your H1B will still be valid even in if I-140 is revoked. However, the only flip side is one will lose the old priority date.
For sure, this is exactly outlined in the law. I have known some cases who are working successfully and legally on H1Bs even after their I-140s revoked (by the way one of them is in 8th year of H1B)

PA DMV requires atleast one document which has a later expiry to issue license, Take a letter from her employer stating she will be working in PA until a later date (Say 12/31/2011 eg). Show it to them and they will issue license.

As per the rule: Once you start working in a full time capacity for another company (other than your current H1B employer) will mean that your H1B is no more active. Something happens to your I-140 and then you are screwed (Remember that you cannot get back to H1B status after you started using EAD with a company other than your current H1B employer). So, be careful before you use your EAD until your I-140 is approved and 6 months of I-485 filing (I assume you completed the 180 day rule).

Andhra students also scored well in the reserved category with OBC students from the state bagging seven out of the top 15 ranks in this section. Among reserved categories including SC, ST, OBC and physically handicapped (PH) the state secured over 50 ranks in the top 200 slab.
Officials from IIT-Madras, who were in charge of the results, said Andhra students already account for 21% of the total student strength in IITs. "One should not be surprised by the performance of these students as they have traditionally done well. This year, the percentage of students from the state in the IITs might be higher than 25%," said T S Natarajan, director, IIT-JEE.
While IIT-Madras, which conducted the examination, was criticized for the errors in mathematics and physics question papers, IIT experts said such errors could have actually worked in favour of the students from Andhra as not many would have been able to crack some of ambiguous questions. "Most front-rankers from the state cracked these ambiguous questions, which might have given them an edge over others," said K V Raghunath, vice-chairman, Narayana Group of Colleges whose students bagged five of the top seven ranks. honest opinion, talk to a good lawyer about this. your case is unique so dont depend comments from us. Companies have always used the carrot and stick aproach, with GCs, its just our luck that we roll the dice with this process and how we are exploited. You can stand your ground and negotiate with your firm, to a certain extent they need you too. Your I-40 is owned by the company, so they are the ones sponsoring you. Besides your current lawyers will probably have all your papers and approvals. Our lawyer did not even give us the I 140 number as we did not file it. I guess you might need all the 140 papers when you file for 485
