You being US citizen or president of USA does not mean much to us! I have requested you to show me "so called 30 day rule" on any of the official web site (For example USCIS). I have asked you this several times. Every time You just direct us to some lawyer's web site/university web site and expect us to believe them.

Hmm, urs is a unique case, but as far as i can tell u need to have FP done, that is the process, your lawyers may be able to help, have u contacted them?
Paper filing is fine and its not slow, usually paper filers dont get FP notices.
I did contact my lawyer. They have put in a SR but that's not helping. I was hoping the EAD renewal will kick it but looks like paper based doesn't kick it..
Argh!! This waiting game seems helpless..

Country quota is not because of "infrastructure". It is to promote diversity.
Now the real debate is does EB also has to be controlled for diversity.
Another side of the argument is whether the diversity argument really does make sense on a per country base? India & China itself are largely diverse compared to a small country like "Luxembourg".
The real intent for promoting diversity is good. But the implementation is the killer.
US employment based immigration system is merit based, not need based. The EB system is to keep US industry more competitive. if you were a hiring manager, you would give a Pakistani more preference than an Indian, just because Pakistan has less infrastructure than India?

He never claimed his wife was better than the OP. All he is saying is that his wife HAD a job, which is the minimum requirement to apply for an H-1B. He never said that converting from H4 to H1 is illegal!

It is no secret that human civilization has progressed and prospered only because some people have thought hard and attempted to invent new things. Anyway, you are mixing two different issues. The Nepali guy came to the US on diversity grounds (no matter what his education is). US law promotes diversity, meaning faces from all over the world. Family and Employment are other two categories. In EB category, of course, higher education stands higher priority. Family and Diversity are diffrent categories with criteria.

I took a printout of the receiver's signature image and the tracking information from the Fedex website just in case.
My attorney also mentioned that he submitted my case to the NSC liaison (I think he is referring to the AILA liaison of the NSC center) for follow up to see if they can help confirm the status of my application.
I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Wanted to let everyone know of my experience. I dont physically have my card, but there is an approval notice on the USCIS website.
Priority date October 20th 2005
I opened a service request on Monday August 16th. The person on the other end of the line was extremely polite and nice. I told him I had a speaking engagement in Canada (which is the truth) and that if my case was expedited, I would not have to apply for a visa. He given me a SR number and asked me to wait for 30 days which I was prepared to do. However my case status changed online on August 19th. I am unsure as to whether this was because of the service request or things would have taken this route anyway.
