Thanks for sharing this...But I've not yet applied for my EAD renewal...
My wife got a soft LUD on 8/21. She has PD of Dec 2005 EB2 (I). I wa shappy to see some activity but then i saw the following thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum5-all-other-green-card-issues/1599851-ead-renewal-but-i-485-update.html#post1981520) . It looks like some got the soft LUD on their 485 but their EAD was in process and same is the case wiht my wife. She applied for EAD renewal last month.

I looked at both the service center webpages(texas & nebraska) & I-485 application has to be sent to Nebraska only.I do not understand now why they are transferring the application from nebraska to Texas
if I-140 is approved at Texas.

Attorney mailed AOS at NSC (delivered on 7/2/07: he said all EB applications has to go to NSC irrespective of the center of I-140 appoval). I donot understand if it is to be transferred to TSC why it should have been invited at NSC-may be receipt #s are generated at NSC and cases are transferred electronically to different centers for handling depending upon work load of the center. NSC may be the monitoring center. Going by discussions here it looks like TSC is quick and fast. Any guesses?

On Aug 17th the message changed to "On Aug 16th Card Production Ordered...."
when should I expect the card in mail?
Did you receive the welcome notices? The 797 approval notices is what I mean.
Once you get that, from there within a weeks times you should get your physical cards.
From the CPO mail at the most 2 weeks. That is the trend.

Did you get your EAD/AP approval yet? I filed in 1st week of May, but nothing yet?
I applied for my EAD and AP renewal on the second week of May 2008. Again, I am not sure if EAD or AP renewal triggered the FP notice. Good luck to you.

We need a tough, smart and comprehensive approach to fix our broken immigration system. We must begin by securing our borders with investments in personnel, infrastructure and technology. We should require the undocumented in this country to register, pay a fine, learn English, and pass criminal background checks before allowing them the opportunity to become citizens.
Our immigration system is broken, and it cannot be fixed by passing one piece of reform, even a good one like the DREAM Act. We should address immigration as a whole, and that is a primary goal of mine here in the Senate.
As you may know, the DREAM Act, or Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2009 (S. 729), introduced by Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois, would amend previous legislation to allow states to determine residency for higher education purposes. It also authorizes states to cancel the removal and adjust status of certain alien students who are long-term United States residents who entered the United States as children. However, minor aliens who are eligible must meet the following criteria: entered the United States before his or her 16th birthday and has been present in the United States for at least five years immediately preceding enactment of this Act; is a person of good moral character; is not inadmissible or deportable under specified grounds of the Immigration and Nationality Act; at the time of application, has been admitted to an institution of higher education or has earned a high school or equivalent diploma; from the age of 16 and older, has never been under a final order of exclusion, deportation, or removal; and was under age 35 on the date of this Act's enactment.
Currently, the DREAM Act is under consideration by the Senate Judiciary Committee. While I am not a member of this committee, I will keep your concerns in mind if this issue is brought before the full Senate for consideration.

I wish they go after the fake companies that acts as GC boutique and also those who "bought" GC from them. (I mean not really bought, but who got GC from a company who originally never intended to work for them or never did). And of course use those numbers for LEGITIMATE cases (I hate to see those numbers go waste).

uscis caught many companies in fraud - also consulates - many companies giving internal projects, etc. or fake purchase orders and getting caught by department of state which then forwards to U.S.
ICE is making visits to consultants homes to verify where they are actually working and comparing to h-1b's.
Next; investigations will start with greencards.

I pledged 100 $ today for Aman's expenses because I felt really bad abt that. I donated around 300$ till date including 20$ recurring contribution.
I filed my 485 long time ago. But when people who are really seeing the fruits of IV (July VB reversal) are higly reluctant to donate even a few bucks, while they are spending thousand's of dollars for their 485 stuff, I am kinda confused.
Are people really that selfish not to donate a few bucks(may be 5$per month) to an organization which is making them file 485 and reversed all this fiasco.

It was amazing to see such response to call for funds for Aman and other core members.

Where is the relief for foreign educated professional who is filed under EB3.
They seem to exempt only for extraordinary ability ppl.
Section 201 item two says exemption for all advanced degree holder who worked in US for atleast 3 years in a "related" field. I know there might be issues with definition of "related" but seems job can be EB2/EB3 as long as the beneficiary has an advanced degree and the job is in related field - they are exempt. Am I reading it correctly? I think is how its in STEM right now. A very good back bill for us (if CIR fails to materialize).

1) Read about how treacherous a path they take when they cross the border. The position they were in their home country is what drives them to risk life to get to a place where they can find a better life and moreover provide a better life to family back at home , whom they may not see even once in few years.
Once you have a fair understanding of their path, in my opinion,you will never compare yourself with them and feel bad about few things that may have gone right for them.
2)The government bringing them to the front of the line is definitely injustice to people who are already there in the queue as well as to those who are going to apply legally in future. They should make sure they don't get precedence over the current applicants and they have to make sure the don't create a block for the future legal applicants.
And none of us should even complain when millions of illegals are suddenly made legal by the Government and they jump the line in front of us for no fault of ours and there are EB3s still waiting from 2001. The illegals have taken a risk right by jumping across the border and staying here illegally???

Story of my life. I complain about delay with my application. Someone joins me and tells me they are in the same boat and the very next day that someone leaves the boat and jumps into "greener" pastures. Everyone is leaving the boat and I seem to be left out :(

Since now as per USCIS notice of receipt status as of Sep 7, TSC is also finished with July 2 filings. All filings of July 2, no matter where you filed, should have been receipted. Allowing a few days for mail, all July 2 filers should have their receipts in their hands. NSC is way ahead of course.

I have been thinking in similar lines for quite sometime now. I have decided to wait till September 2012 to see if dates reach my PD which is October 2007.
If not i am strongly looking at New Zealand too...
